    “What Am I Doin’ Hangin’ Round” – what a tremendous song! When I eventually came to appreciate the Monkees that song was one of the reasons why. The other week a guy unexpectedly stepped up to sing it at my local Open Mic, and I stepped up with him to add tambourine and supply vocal harmony on the choruses. Took the place apart. It’s now in my own Open Mic set. Oh, and Nes’s 12-string Gretsch – what a toothsome beauty.
